Veggycation aims to increase awareness about the goodness of vegetables; nutritional information, optimum cooking methods, preparation and storage. Funded by Hort Innovation, the website provides information based on pre-approved nutrition and health claims.

The Safe Farming Tasmania program is an agreement between DPIPWE and Worksafe that is about:

  • Raising awareness of farm safety issues

  • Encouraging discussions

  • Providing farmers with the support they need to improve work health and safety

The program has developed a number of useful resources including an induction handbook.

Multi-lingual flyers are now available from Biosecurity Tasmania. Available in Chinese, Japanese, French, German and Italian, the flyers briefly outline the fruit fly situation in Tasmania, and ways in which they might assist in the eradication effort.

National Vegetable Extension Network (VegNET) is a new initiative funded by Hort Innovation for the Australian vegetable industry. With a focus on the whole supply chain including growing, packing, processing and marketing, the project covers topics such as production benchmarking, markets, value-adding, innovation and new technologies, brining the latest R&D to vegetable businesses.
